Role Responsibilities

Join our dynamic IT Procurement team as a Reporting Officer, where your expertise in reporting and analytics will help drive efficiency, transparency, and compliance across critical procurement processes. This is your opportunity to make an impact by supporting government operations and enabling smarter decision-making through clear, accurate, and timely reporting

Reporting to the Reporting and Relations Manager, as the Reporting Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Reporting Specialists and IT Procurement team by:

  • Data & Reporting Management
    o    Configure and manage reporting tools to collect and analyze key data points.
    o    Develop and maintain advanced reports using tools like Power BI and PowerPoint.
    o    Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
    o    Manage scheduled reporting needs and ensure timely delivery.

  • Process Improvement & Compliance
    o    Audit procurement files and ERP systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance with GoA document management policies.
    o    Identify process gaps and assist in implementing change controls.
    o    Support responses to FOIP and internal audit requests.


  • Collaboration & Relationship Building
    o    Assist in communicating IT Procurement offerings and expertise to stakeholders.
    o    Support transformational initiatives and help resolve vendor-related issues.
    o    Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper filing of procurement records.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • University graduation in a related field such as Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Sciences, Information Technology., Public Administration.
  •  In-depth knowledge of Procurement, Contract and Supplier Relationship Management.  
  • No experience required.  


Equivalencies: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

 

Assets: 

  • A degree or a diploma in a related field such as Procurement and Contract Management, Business Administration or Information Technology.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management.
  • Experience with financial and business processes. 
  • Some experience or a solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices. 
  • Knowledge of Procurement processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of IT operations, project integration, ministry support, application support, supplier management and their dependencies.
  • Experience in reporting, data analysis, and information management practices.
  • Experience in Information management and best practices. 
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks and processes, including ITIL, COBIT, and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with standard office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite of products, SharePoint, SAP, Ariba).
  • Experience in preparing and delivering reports, project documentation and professional presentations. 
  • Experience with reporting tools and best practices for data visualization and automation.

Term of Employment: Permanent full-time position
Hours of Work:  36.25 hours per week/ Monday to Friday
Location: Remote across Alberta

This position is eligible for remote work. You must reside in Alberta to work remotely for this position.
