The Summer Intern for Global Banking and Markets (GBM) Communications will play a key role in supporting the development and execution of internal and external communications that align with GBM’s strategic priorities and communication processes. This position will assist the GBM Communications team in ensuring timely, accurate, and engaging communications across multiple platforms, contributing to the smooth operation of communication workflows. The intern will report directly to the Manager, GBM Communications.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Assist with research to aid in the development of internal and external communications
  • Design and format templates, banners and graphics for our internal and external communications platforms. 
  • Manage the GBM SharePoint/intranet site, including the posting of content such as announcements, executive leadership messages and strategy updates and design new pages. 
  • Assist in managing email distributions and communications across all GBM channels, including both all-GBM audiences and targeted groups as needed. This includes regularly managing email distribution lists, updating screens and managing the GBM Communications mailbox. 
  • Assist in the creation and development of presentations for the GBM employee base
  • Support the planning and execution of town halls and meetings. 
  • Manage translation requirements for distributions. 
  • Record, edit and finalize videos for internal distribution. 
  • Provide distribution support/back up for Regional Leads as required. 
  • Prepare updates for shared calendars as required for GBM Communications. 
  • Provide assistance on other communication initiatives as needed. 

 

Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if:

 

  • You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education. Ideally in a bachelor or post-grad program in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field. 
  • Course work or a certificate in graphic design, or equivalent experience 
  • You love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.
  • You enjoy being involved in extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, and competitions and/or hackathons.
  • Financial services sector experience is an asset. 
  • Video creation and editing experience is an asset. 
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish is an asset. 
  • You have a natural curiosity and awareness about current market and business trends. 
  • You pride yourself on thinking outside of the box and bring in ground-breaking ideas to the team.
