About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional who thrives in fast-paced, people-driven environments. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will oversee daily manufacturing activities for a defined value stream, balancing quality, safety, productivity, and team engagement to deliver strong operational results.

You will work closely with front-line employees and cross-functional partners across supply chain, engineering, safety, and manufacturing support. This role sits within a well-established industrial organization that values continuous improvement, accountability, and respectful leadership. Your impact will be felt not only in performance metrics, but in the growth, safety, and development of the people you lead.

What’s In It for You

You will join a workplace that values collaboration, clear communication, and steady improvement. This is a role where your ideas are welcomed, your leadership style matters, and your ability to coach and mentor others is truly valued. Expect exposure to continuous improvement initiatives, operational decision-making, and a culture that supports learning and accountability.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, balancing quality, cost, productivity, safety, and morale.
  • In this role, you’ll supervise and support a team of 20+ hourly employees, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • You’ll manage staffing, time and attendance, performance metrics, and provide regular updates to leadership and peers.
  • You’ll drive continuous improvement by analyzing quality issues, scrap, rework, and inventory discrepancies, then leading corrective actions.
  • You’ll foster strong employee relations through coaching, feedback, performance evaluations, and development planning.
  • You’ll ensure safety and environmental compliance, lead incident investigations, support JHSC activities, and maintain 6S standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years leading an hourly workforce.
  • High school diploma or GED, with post-secondary technical education considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Proven ability to influence, motivate, and develop teams in a high-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and experience with inventory or planning systems.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
