Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.

The Role

As Senior Manager, Data Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining well-governed Global Capital Markets (GCM) Pre-Trade data, with a strong focus on OTC derivatives. This data will enable informed decision-making and ensure regulatory compliance across the organization.

You will collaborate closely with Sales & Trading, COO, and Business Risk Management teams, while serving as the GBM point of contact for external trading platforms and ATSs on data-related matters. This role includes working on the trading floor on designated days. We’re looking for a bold thinker—curious, innovative, and committed to an enterprise-first mindset.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer-focused culture, delivering data solutions that drive business value and support the Bank’s success.
  • Manage data risk by identifying quality issues, assessing materiality and root causes, and leading remediation efforts.
  • Establish and promote strong data governance practices across stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technology partners.
  • Build prototype datasets and write queries/code to process semi-structured data (Avro). Experience with SQL, JSON, or XML is an asset—we’ll help you learn the rest.
  • Engage with external trading venues to ensure timely fulfillment of the Bank’s data requirements, minimizing delays for trading desks.
  • Identify optimal data sources for each use case, emphasizing data meaning and context.
  • Drive implementation of data management practices—including metadata, data quality controls, and lineage—in collaboration with Data Management Services.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in GCM Pre-Trade data, systems, and processes, becoming the go-to resource for insights and guidance.
  • Contribute to improving data best practices and transforming new value-add activities into repeatable processes.
  • Provide support to other data domains as needed.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field.
  • Prior experience in data management, capital markets, or a related domain.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-trade activities and OTC product data.
  • Familiarity with capital markets regulatory reporting and trade reporting.
  • Knowledge of data management principles (metadata, data quality, lineage).
  • Technical proficiency in:
      • SQL for data querying and manipulation.
      • Python for data processing and automation.
      • Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with semi-structured data formats (Avro, JSON, XML).
  • Understanding of process engineering methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma (asset).

What’s in it for you?
