The Government of Alberta is looking for an IT Procurement Specialist to lead high-impact IT procurement projects achieving value to business partners, and help modernize how we source, manage, and execute contracts. This is your chance to be part of a forward-thinking team that combines procurement expertise with emerging technologies to transform government services.
Reporting to the Manager, IT Procurement, you will provide value to business partners through effective and auditable procurement outcomes while minimizing organizational risk and aligning with the strategic objectives of the ministry and the GoA. In this role, you will develop and execute procurement tasks and contracts using diverse procurement methodologies, support and mentor IT Procurement Analysts and Officers, and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. You will also contribute to initiatives promoting innovation, efficiency, and service excellence across the ministry.
As part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to innovation and service excellence, this role will contribute to initiatives that promote the adoption and integration of emerging technologies including, but not limited to, automation and artificial intelligence (AI), to drive operational efficiency. Candidates should have an awareness of emerging technologies and the capacity to consider how automation and AI can be thoughtfully applied within their scope of work to enhance outcomes and support modernization efforts.

Term of Employment: Up to two permanent full-time positions
Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week/ Monday to Friday
Location: Remote across Alberta
This position is eligible for remote work. You must reside in Alberta to work remotely for this position.
Successful candidates will be required to attend occasional mandatory in person meetings at the Edmonton office.
Final candidates may be required to undergo security screening.
