Purpose of Role:

This role is responsible for enabling the professional practice management of the Advisor network across Scotiabank partners who use the Conquest Planning software. It focuses on driving financial planning engagement, operational excellence, and business results through strategic initiatives, coaching, content development, and collaboration across business lines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning Engagement & Business Results

  • Promote and drive strong financial planning engagement across all advisor channels.
  • Develop national best practices for financial planning performance and sales techniques.
  • Create and deliver content (articles, brochures, webinars) to support Total Wealth Planning.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for external communications and presentations.
  • Technical support and escalation resource for the Total Wealth Planning team – addressing complex tax, insurance, estate planning questions.

2. Practice Management & Coaching

  • Mentor and coach the various roles within the Total Wealth Planning Team.  
  • Support all partners by creating a sustainable training Financial Planning program that enhances the planning capabilities from discovery to plan presentation and implementation.
  • Co-ordinate the compliance/ plan oversight for all financial planning sources across Scotiabank. 

3. Cross-functional Collaboration & Innovation

  • Liaise with marketing, internal partners, and Teams of Specialists to optimize planning initiatives.
  • Represent financial planning in cross-functional projects (technology, regulatory, business development) as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Stay current with industry trends and integrate best practices into planning strategies.

4. Team Contribution & Culture

  • Foster a culture of open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in team development activities and contribute to performance achievements.
  • Share knowledge and encourage innovation across the team.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree
  • Accredited financial planning designation (CFP, Pl.Fin – IQPF for Quebec)
  • 5–10 years of experience as a practicing financial planner/advisor/leader in the HNW space
  • Strong understanding of financial planning disciplines: investments, retirement, estate, taxation, risk management
  • Excellent written and presentation skills

Preferred:

  • Life Insurance license or strong knowledge of insurance solutions
  • Expertise in integrating taxation principles into planning
  • Experience with financial planning software
  • Proven leadership experience with small to medium-sized teams

Working Conditions:

  • Follow Scotiabank policy for return to work
  • Business travel requires frequent trips to Toronto Head Office
