Responsibilities for Bilingual CBSA Security Guard

  • Protect individuals, property, and assets within a CBSA facility

  • Escort detainees safely within the premises using restraints when required

  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and compassion when working with individuals under stress

  • Observe, monitor, and document detainee behaviour, escalating concerns as needed

  • Conduct regular indoor and outdoor foot patrols

  • Perform frequent wellness and safety checks

  • Utilize security systems, software, and equipment effectively

  • Respond quickly to emergencies using tactical communication and de-escalation techniques

  • Complete detailed and accurate incident and daily activity reports

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification

  • Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken)

  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a minimum of 5 years residency in Canada

  • High school diploma or equivalent (proof required)

  • Ability to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check

  • Minimum 1 year of tactical security experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with vulnerable populations

  • Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure environments

  • Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer service skills
