About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play a critical role protecting the systems that communities rely on every day. Reporting to the IT Security Manager, you will be the go-to specialist for Operational Technology security, with a primary focus on SCADA, BAS, and IoT environments supporting essential public infrastructure.

You will join a collaborative, people-first public sector IT team where security is viewed as a shared responsibility. Working closely with SCADA operators, infrastructure teams, and fellow cybersecurity professionals, your work will directly support safe, resilient, and reliable services for the broader community.

What’s in it for You

You will be part of a mission-driven organization that values stability, learning, and collaboration. This is a role where your expertise is trusted, your voice is heard, and your work has visible impact.

You can expect exposure to meaningful projects, legacy-to-modern transformation initiatives, and a workplace that encourages knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement, and professional growth within cybersecurity and OT environments.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll act as the primary security administrator for all OT and SCADA services, ensuring secure architectures, monitoring, and operational readiness.

  • In this role, you’ll develop and maintain SCADA-specific SOPs, incident response runbooks, and operational security controls.

  • You’ll conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses across SCADA applications and connected IT systems.

  • You’ll provide hands-on guidance and consultation to SCADA teams, aligning operational goals with security best practices.

  • You’ll contribute to security project work, including legacy system risk mitigation, decommissioning, or migration initiatives.

  • You’ll support broader cybersecurity operations, including threat investigation, patching, and security control administration.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting OT or SCADA systems, ideally within utilities or critical infrastructure.

  • 1+ year of hands-on IT security experience, with a strong learning mindset.

  • Solid understanding of Zero Trust security principles and network, OS, and identity services including IAM and PAM.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, monitoring tools, and network security technologies.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to advise both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Note from the Hiring Manager

“We’re looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and passionate about securing the systems that matter most. If you enjoy working closely with operators and technologists to solve real-world challenges, this role will feel rewarding.”
