Location: Ottawa, ON, Hybrid (minimum 2 days on-site per week)

Duration: Full-time 3-month contract

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading nonprofit organization in the healthcare sector, is seeking a Consultant, Employee Experience to join their dynamic Talent Strategy team within the People, Culture and Performance division. In this role, you’ll help design and deliver initiatives that engage and empower employees, with a particular focus on frontline teams. You’ll work closely with colleagues across multiple divisions, ensuring all employees feel respected, connected, and valued. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of projects that support strategic objectives, from expanding listening strategies to implementing front-line councils in a unionized environment. You’ll also collaborate with internal leaders and external stakeholders, applying your expertise to shape programs that have a meaningful impact on the workforce and the organization’s culture.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You’ll lead initiatives to improve employee experience, focusing on the frontline workforce.
  • In this role, you’ll oversee execution of the employee experience strategy and roadmap, monitoring impact and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • You’ll leverage data and insights to prioritize gaps and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • You’ll provide thought leadership and advice, influencing change without direct authority.
  • You’ll support the setup and management of councils and other engagement structures, particularly in a unionized environment.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across three teams and report to the Director of Talent Strategy.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in employee experience strategy, design, and delivery.
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge mobilization.
  • Strong understanding of frontline workforce dynamics, preferably in unionized environments.
  • Proven ability to use data to drive decisions and measure impact.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Completion of a university degree; graduate degree or HR specialization preferred.
  • Consulting experience is an asset.
