What you will be doing:

Contributes to the overall success of the Tangerine Marketing Department in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Helps drive CMO strategic priorities by tracking and advancing the success of our Marketing Vision and Plan; developing high-impact, high-visibility materials for senior leaders; and delivering on projects as assigned by CMO.

  • Champions a customer-focused culture, ensuring customer and client needs are placed at the centre of marketing strategy work across the business. This could take 2 approaches:

    • High-touch support: supporting end-to-end development of customized marketing strategies for stakeholders:
      • Develops project plan, working group definition and project governance model.
      • Defines objectives, strategic deliverables, measurement, and implementation plans.
      • Gathers, analyzes and synthesizes consumer insights and other research inputs into actionable business-driving solutions.
      • Leads project implementation including ideation sessions, workshops and programs planning aligned to project objectives and strategic deliverables (ensuring seamless hand-off if project is identified as an ongoing program).

    • Low-touch support: provides advisory support by leveraging a pre-defined set of tools to address ad-hoc requests, or as part of working groups/steering committees for key initiatives:
      • Translation of high-touch key projects into "project frameworks" that can be applied by teams.
      • Development of strategic marketing tools that empower individual teams to make decisions (including guidance and flexibility to adapt execution based on local business realities).

 

  • Delivers on specific projects as assigned, leading the development and deployment of creative assets; acting as main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; and monitoring spend in coordination with the broader team and partners for budget investment.

  • Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with marketing and non-marketing stakeholders to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives.

  • Works effectively in grey space, putting structure around ambiguous tasks that have often not been completed before.

  • Champions proper usage of the Tangerine brand, in full compliance with brand guidelines and Tangerine’s visual identity continuum.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to Tangerine’s values: accountability, passion, integrity and respect. Delivers results in accordance to Tangerine behavioural competencies. Creates an inclusive team culture and an environment where team members hear, share, and appreciate diverse perspectives.

  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates and models the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.

  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 8 years of experience in a similar role working in a management consulting firm or as a strategist within an agency/marketing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of marketing strategies and go-to-market plans. Expertise within the Financial Services industry is a plus.
  • End-to-end project management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills. Highly proficient at processing large amounts of research and other information into relevant strategies that support the Bank’s business goals.
  • Natural storyteller. Highly proficient in using PowerPoint with strong communication skills and ability to write, design and deliver impactful presentations in relatable and convincing ways.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously and effectively in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment.
  • Highly developed relationship management skills. Capable to engage and work directly with senior marketing and business strategy leaders across the Bank – to gain their trust and fully understand their business.
  • Authentic, decisive, resilient, highly collaborative, and results oriented.
  • Self-starter who takes end-to-end ownership and responsibility.
