The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation is responsible for the policies, legislation, regulations, programs, and services that enable Alberta’s agriculture and food sectors to flourish and contribute to Alberta’s economic recovery and growth. Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) is part of Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation and has the mandated responsibility to operate, maintain and keep safe the provincially owned water infrastructure. The Branch is made up of multidisciplinary teams including Operations and Maintenance, Engineering and Technical Services and Dam Safety. WIOB is Province wide with office locations across Alberta.

We are hiring an Operations & Maintenance Team Lead to join our dedicated crew in Spruce Grove or Peace River. In this leadership role, you will guide a skilled team responsible for the safe, efficient operation, maintenance, and inspection of complex, provincially owned water infrastructure across Northern Alberta.
Your territory? A vast and vital region stretching from Edmonton to the Northwest Territories border. You’ll oversee critical assets like the South Heart Dams, Paddle River Dam, Hutch and Stoney Dams, the Paddle and Pembina Diking System, and numerous smaller projects that keep Alberta’s water flowing.

Two (2) year technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Water Resources or in a closely related field, plus seven (7) years’ experience in the operation, maintenance and inspection of infrastructure.
