PURPOSE OF JOB
The Manager of the Web & Marketing translation unit is responsible for a team of processionals who translate, from English to French, Web and marketing materials supporting the bank’s business.
The incumbent maximizes in-house productivity by organizing work and managing time, and is responsible for outsourcing variances, while considering in-house capacity, budget and efficiency.
Major Accountabilities:
1.In collaboration with the Coordinator, the Manager of this unit assigns work to appropriate resources, which includes the following tasks:
•Prioritizes Web and Marketing projects and identifies appropriate resources. Maximizes in-house capacity to ensure most efficient use of resources.
•Prepares for the translation assignment by communicating with the Requestor to obtain further information about the request when all relevant details are not provided.
2.Revises texts translated by unit employees and external providers to ensure quality of language and accuracy of the text. Translates when specific situations require it.
3.Provides ongoing training and coaching to employees supervised. Assesses their performance and escalates any performance/HR issue to Senior Manager.
4.Contributes to maintaining a pleasant work environment in the department. Contributes to the smooth operation of the department by properly following the established administrative procedures: timely follow-up with employees and business partners, etc. Ensures the fair and equitable treatment of all team members. Participates in resolving issues presented in employee engagement surveys.
5.Participates in objectives planning, process definition and other management tasks related to her\his unit and as requested by Senior Manager.
6.Provides the highest quality of service to our business partners by ensuring that Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded.
