DutiesAs a GIS professional with RP Ops, you’ll play a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure across the organization. Reporting to the Deputy Engineering Officer and working closely with the Geomatics Team Lead, you’ll take on a variety of tasks and use your technical expertise to turn spatial data into meaningful operational decisions.
In this role, you’ll help ensure the integrity of critical infrastructure by maintaining accurate GIS data and supporting processes such as siting and dig permitting. Your work may include responding to emergency dig permits (for example, during heating line failures), assisting with the siting of new buildings and infrastructure projects, surveying existing works for upgrades, and ensuring high-quality data entry and maintenance in GIS systems.
You’ll work both in the field and in the office—about 35–45% outdoors and 55–65% indoors—giving you a balance of hands-on and analytical work. This is an opportunity to make a real impact while developing your technical skills in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
