Role Responsibilities

Drive the projects that shape Alberta’s roads, transit, and public spaces for generations to come.

Within the Grants Administration team, you will be at the heart of one of Alberta’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives, the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Plan (ICIP), fueling projects that strengthen communities across the province.

This is not just about paperwork. It is about ensuring that every dollar of federal and provincial funding translates into better roads, transit systems, and public spaces for Albertans. You will be the bridge between government leaders, municipalities, and community organizations, making sure projects move forward smoothly, transparently, and with measurable impact.

Your work will span:

  • Financial stewardship: Tracking and reporting on multimillion-dollar grants to keep programs accountable and effective.
  • Strategic influence: Supporting decisions at the highest levels of government with research, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Coordinating across ministries, engaging municipalities, and liaising with federal partners to align priorities.
  • Communication: Developing briefings, presentations, and public-facing materials that tell the story of Alberta’s infrastructure investments.
  • Problem-solving: Anticipating and resolving emerging issues to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

Required:  

 

University degree in Economics, Political Science, Business Administration, Transportation Planning or related, PLUS 2 years related experience or equivalent as described

 

Equivalency:

 

  • Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience, or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

 

For Example: 

 

  • Related 1 year certificate PLUS a minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Related 2-year diploma PLUS a minimum 4 years of experience.
  • Related minimum 6 years of experience.

 

The successful candidate MUST also have: 

 

  • Knowledge of grant programs, policies, procedures, and processing.
  • Solid financial knowledge and experience tracking as well as maintaining financial forecasts.
  • Ability to develop, interpret and analyze policy as well as to evaluate and recommend improvements.
  • Strong writing, editing and research skills.
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Projects, Visio, SharePoint, and Teams.

 

Assets:

  • Familiarity with the policy cycle.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.

Notes

Additional Position Details:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position up to 12 months working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 
  • This position will be located in either Edmonton.
