Aperçu du poste

Calian Antenna Solutions, située à Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC, conçoit et fabrique une large gamme de systèmes d’antennes de précision pour les communications par satellite, la radioastronomie, la science et les applications de défense.

Nous recherchons actuellement un(e) candidat(e) pour le poste d’Ingénieur(e) en conception mécanique. La personne retenue participera à la conception, l’analyse, le développement, la production, la maintenance et la mise à niveau de grands systèmes d’antennes. Les projets incluront tout, de la conception et l’analyse de grandes structures soudées en acier, au dimensionnement et à la conception de systèmes d’entraînement, ainsi que de petits mécanismes complexes.

Responsabilités :

  • Conception mécanique et structurelle à l’aide de logiciels de modélisation 3D
  • Analyse structurelle par modélisation par éléments finis et calculs classiques
  • Validation et sélection des systèmes d’entraînement
  • Sélection des composants mécaniques
  • Sélection des matériaux
  • Production de dessins détaillés de pièces et d’assemblages ainsi que des procédures
  • Définition des méthodes et procédures de protection contre la corrosion
  • Analyse et vérification de la déformation de la forme de l’antenne
  • Interface technique avec les fournisseurs et sous-traitants
  • Support à l’équipe d’intégration des antennes

En tant que membre de l’équipe d’ingénierie, vous :

  • Contribuerez à l’optimisation, la mise en œuvre et les tests du système de bout en bout
  • Appuierez les propositions de projets et les estimations
  • Participerez à des projets de R&D
  • Résoudrez des problèmes au niveau système pouvant être liés ou non à la conception mécanique
  • Préparerez et présenterez des revues de conception
  • Effectuerez des déplacements occasionnels chez les clients aux États-Unis et à l’international

Qualifications :

  • Diplôme en génie mécanique
  • Minimum 5 à 7 ans d’expérience avec un logiciel de CAO (SolidWorks de préférence)
  • Minimum 5 à 7 ans d’expérience avec diverses méthodes de fabrication (usinage, soudage, tôlerie, composites, etc.)
  • Capacité à produire des dessins de fabrication clairs et détaillés
  • Bonnes compétences analytiques, de planification et de résolution de problèmes
  • Compréhension des charges liées aux grandes structures dynamiques
  • Maîtrise de la production de documentation technique
  • Les candidats doivent être admissibles à travailler au Canada et capables de réussir une vérification de sécurité
  • Excellentes compétences en communication en anglais, à l’oral et à l’écrit(La maîtrise de l’anglais est essentielle, car le poste implique des communications fréquentes avec des clients et des fournisseurs situés hors du Québec et à l’international)

Position overview

Calian Antenna Solutions, located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC, designs and manufactures a wide range of large precision antenna systems for satellite communications, radio astronomy, science and defense applications. We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer. The successful candidate will participate in the design, analysis, development, production, maintenance and upgrades of large antenna systems. Projects will include everything from large steel weldment design and analysis, drivetrain sizing and design, and small intricate mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical and structural design using 3D modeling software

• Structural analysis using finite element modeling and classical calculations

• Drivetrain design validation and selection

• Selection of mechanical components

• Selection of materials

• Producing detailed part and assembly drawings and procedure

• Defining corrosion protection methods and procedures • Analysis and verification of antenna shape deformation.

• Engineering liaison with suppliers and subcontractors.

• Providing support to the antenna integration team

As part of the Engineering team you will:

• Support the end-to-end system optimization, implementation and testing.

• Support project proposals and estimation.

• Participate in R&D projects

• Debug system level problems that may or may not be rooted in mechanical design.

• Preparation and presentation of design reviews.

• Occasional travel to customer sites in the US and International

Qualification

• Degree in Mechanical engineering

• At least 5-7 years of experience with CAD software (Solidworks preferred).

• At least 5-7 years experience with a variety of manufacturing methods (machining, welding, sheet metal, composite, etc.)

• Capable of producing clear and detailed manufacturing drawings

• Good analytical, planning and problem-solving skills

• Understanding of loads related to large dynamic structures.

• Proficiency with technical documentation production.

• Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be able to pass a security check.

• Very good communication skills in English, both verbal and written

(Proficiency in English is essential, as the role involves frequent communication with customers and suppliers located outside Quebec and across international markets)

Additional Requirement:

• Experience with the design of large mechanical structure

• Knowledge of servo motors and drives

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis

• Familiar with various inspection and measurement techniques

• Bilingual in English and French
