This role is Hybrid (3 days a week) based out of Vancouver, BC

Position Summary

Imperva (a Thales Company) is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Advanced Bot Protection (ABP) team. Advanced Bot Protection is a market leading solution that secures critical assets from undesired automated traffic. By protecting against bot attacks, we help millions of people every day get a fair, private and safe internet environment. This team is responsible for developing distributed and scalable data processing systems to analyze traffic so we can protect from threats. We are also responsible for developing the reporting front-end for the Advanced Bot Protection product.

We are a cross-functional team that is responsible for delivering product improvements, testing, and maintaining our CI/CD pipelines. If you have a passion for learning new technologies and getting hands-on experience with technologies outside of your comfort zone, you will fit right in.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate, demo and share your work with team members, product managers and stakeholders
  • Engage with stakeholders and other software engineers to understand business requirements, user experience goals and pain points.
  • Take ownership of projects from requirements to completion, through design, implementation & testing
  • Research new technologies that we want to introduce into our product/tech stack.
  • Contribute to discussions about architecture and how infrastructure will affect the design of our applications
  • Develop and deploy applications within our microservices architecture while adhering to high team standards for software quality
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure like EMR, AWS Kinesis Analytics, S3 and others
  • Engage with other teams of developers within Imperva to ensure a well-performing and seamless experience between ABP and our other products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a full stack developer
  • Ability to participate in PagerDuty rotation
  • Experience developing with the following technology:
    • Software Development using Java and Spring Boot
    • Build systems such as Gradle or Maven
    • Containers and containerized orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS, Kubernetes, etc)
    • SQL Databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
    • Experience with delivering software to customers in a SaaS environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with reports and/or analytics
  • Experience working with big data analytics stacks such as Spark, Flink, or Presto
  • Experience with real-time streaming such as Kafka or Kinesis

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC) 86,256.00 - 146,234.40 CAD Annual
