Are you a DevOps professional who loves building clean, reliable pipelines and helping teams ship quality software faster and more securely? This remote DevOps Engineer contract supports a large, public sector–adjacent organization working across modern Azure cloud and legacy on-prem environments.
You will join a collaborative, agile squad that includes developers, systems analysts and tech leads, all focused on improving deployment speed, system reliability and security posture across multiple products and environments.
You will work in a culture that values automation, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing, where your ideas on tooling, process and quality will be heard.
This role offers the chance to deepen your experience with Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, observability and DevSecOps practices, while contributing to meaningful, large-scale initiatives that impact teams across the organization.
• You will design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple products and environments using Azure DevOps and related tools.
• You will integrate security scanners, controls and policies into the development process to support DevSecOps practices and compliance.
• You will embed automated testing, including unit, regression, API, UI and performance testing, into pipelines to improve overall quality.
• You will implement and optimize observability and monitoring, using logs, metrics and alerts to improve system reliability.
• You will collaborate with systems analysts and tech leads to analyze bottlenecks and propose solutions that enhance deployment speed and quality.
• You will build, maintain and test Infrastructure-as-Code environments using Terraform and scripting tools.
• You will mentor and coach team members on DevSecOps practices, automation and code review best practices while seeking opportunities for process improvement.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on work in DevOps or DevSecOps environments.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud and SaaS solutions, including YAML-based pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code and Git-based version control best practices.
• Practical experience with bash, PowerShell or similar scripting tools to automate tasks and workflows.
• Experience working in agile delivery teams with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Asset: Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker, Azure Containers and Kubernetes, plus experience with legacy on-prem applications.
