Solutions Architect – Managed Network Services

Job Summary 

The Solutions Architect – Managed Network Services is a senior individual contributor responsible for supporting complex presales engagements by designing, positioning, and articulating scalable managed network solutions for mid-market and enterprise customers.

This role partners closely with Sales, Product, and Delivery teams to translate customer business requirements into technically sound, commercially viable managed network architectures. The Solutions Architect operates with a high degree of autonomy, applies advanced technical expertise, and contributes to the evolution of Rogers’ Managed Network Services portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

Presales & Customer Engagement

  • Act as the technical presales subject matter expert for Managed Network Services opportunities
  • Lead and support customer discovery sessions to identify business requirements, operational challenges, and technical constraints
  • Translate customer needs into scalable managed network solutions aligned with Rogers standards
  • Present solutions to both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Support proposal development, technical responses, and solution validation activities

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design end-to-end managed network solutions including:
    • Managed Network Services
    • SD-WAN (Cisco, VeloCloud, Fortinet)
    • MPLS and hybrid WAN architectures
    • Network Security and SASE
    • Fortinet and Cisco Meraki platforms
  • Balance standard service offerings with enterprise customization requirements
  • Produce solution diagrams, technical documentation, and architectural summaries
  • Provide input into solution costing, scope definition, and delivery considerations

Sales & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales to support value-based selling and technical positioning
  • Assist with competitive analysis and technical objection handling
  • Collaborate with Product Management on service definition and evolution
  • Engage Delivery teams to ensure presales designs are feasible and supportable
  • Contribute technical input into roadmap discussions and service enhancements

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate and complete handoff of presales documentation to Delivery teams
  • Maintain current knowledge of Rogers managed services portfolio and capabilities
  • Operate effectively in environments with evolving requirements and priorities
  • Apply judgment and problem-solving skills to complex, non-standard scenarios

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a Solutions Architect, Presales Engineer, or similar role
  • Strong experience designing and positioning Managed Network Services
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • SD-WAN technologies (Cisco, VeloCloud, Fortinet)
    • MPLS and hybrid WAN environments
    • Fortinet security platforms
    • Cisco Meraki
    • Network security concepts (firewalls, segmentation, SASE)
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes
  • Experience supporting enterprise or large mid-market customers
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to operate independently and exercise sound professional judgment

Preferred / Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience responding to RFPs and complex proposal processes
  • Experience working in an ISP, telecom, or service provider environment
  • Exposure to Microsoft security, XDR, or cloud networking
  • Familiarity with third-party circuit providers and multi-cloud connectivity

  • Influences outcomes through expertise rather than direct authority
  • Impacts deal quality, solution scalability, and customer satisfaction
