Reporting to the Manager of Design, Production and Operations, the Graphic Designer is part of a multidisciplinary creative team that develops visual solutions to communicate key messages to targeted audiences. The role involves conceptualizing, designing, and producing a variety of graphic materials that support marketing and communications initiatives, educational programs, and wayfinding systems. These materials help advance the Royal Alberta Museum’s mandate as Alberta’s provincial museum. We sustain the Province’s collecting, research, and conservation activities and we showcase and share a long and storied history of this land and the Peoples who have made it their home.
The Graphic Designer applies industry-standard software, typography, and design practices, along with strong conceptual and creative skills. The Graphic Designer collaborates closely with fellow designers and graphic production technicians to develop design products that align with communications and marketing needs. The role includes consulting with Marketing & Communication colleagues and other team members to define project parameters, offering informed advice on visual communication and production methods, and contributing to continuous improvement while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

There is (1) permanent, Part-time position working between 14.5 and 21.75 hours per week, averaging 36.5 hours per pay period.
This position is based in Edmonton. We require you to attach a Cover Letter with your application explaining your qualification and suitability for this role. Candidates must provide a portfolio of related work, showcasing relevant graphic projects.
