Our federal government client is seeking a team of Business Consultants (Senior, Intermediate, and Junior levels) to support improvements in program and portfolio management for contaminated sites. The roles focus on strategic analysis, tool development, and training delivery to enhance program effectiveness and support compliance with audit and evaluation findings.
Conduct analysis of cost estimation and environmental liability practices and provide recommendations for improvement
Review site closure documentation and identify areas for quality enhancement
Analyze contaminated sites risk reduction practices and propose metrics for tracking human health and environmental impacts
Study spending patterns across programs and jurisdictions to identify trends and provide actionable insights
Develop tools, templates, and guidance to improve portfolio and program management practices
Support implementation of management action plans related to audit and evaluation findings
Contribute to governance processes by preparing reports, workplans, presentations, and briefing materials
Update existing documentation to reflect evolving science, Indigenous reconciliation priorities, and government directives
Design and deliver training materials to support knowledge transfer and stakeholder capacity building
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing best practices and lessons learned
University degree in a relevant field such as business, science, engineering, or environmental studies
Professional certification in project management or related discipline is considered an asset
Senior-level candidates must have at least 48 months of experience in business consulting for contaminated sites projects in Canada
Demonstrated experience developing tools and training for contaminated sites programs
Proven ability to analyze and communicate risks, environmental liabilities, and cost estimates across project lifecycles
Experience working with contaminated sites inventories such as the Federal Contaminated Sites Inventory (FCSI) or similar systems
Familiarity with Indigenous engagement and integration of Indigenous knowledge in environmental projects
Strong skills in data analysis, business process improvement, and developing visual reporting products
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF formats for deliverables
Ability to work remotely, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and produce accessible, plain-language materials
English fluency and eligibility for work in a secure government environment
