What you will be doing:                           

 

As the Manager, Deposit Modeling & Analytics, you will contribute to the overall success of the Tangerine Deposit Product Management team in Client Solutions by ensuring that the Bank’s deposit products align with the strategic direction of the brand, support volume and profitability goals, and deliver an exceptional experience that meets the evolving needs of Canadians.

 

You will drive high-impact, end-to-end outcomes for Retail Deposits by supporting the Senior Manager of Deposit Forecasting and Product Management with portfolio performance and strategic business management initiatives.

 

This role calls for a unique blend of strategic thinking and advanced analytics of the deposit portfolio. You will leverage your skills in data analytics, statistical and predictive modeling, and cross-functional collaboration with partners across the organization.

 

You will drive the development of deposit strategies focused on portfolio growth and client engagement. You will manage Deposit P&L through analytical pricing frameworks, propensity targeting, and statistical forecasting – driving decisions that maximize value and deposit performance.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of key drivers of deposit products’ performance, including customer behavior, market trends, and competitive dynamics
  • Utilize external vendor pricing engines to optimize promotional deposit pricing, conduct scenario analysis, and generate insights through deep-dive analyses
  • Design, build and monitor deposits optimization and predictive models, such as: pricing, usage, attrition, and forecasting; apply statistical modeling techniques to project deposit volumes, balances, revenue, and account growth; deliver insights and recommendations to improve performance
  • Analyze complex business problems using large internal and external datasets and advanced tools (e.g., SQL, Python); identify trends, root causes, and communicate findings to executive stakeholders
  • Build deposit financial models and conduct scenario analyses to evaluate deposit initiatives, assess risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making
  • Evaluate the impact of posted and promotional pricing changes on deposit growth to guide business prioritization and strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics, specializing in portfolio and pricing optimization within financial services
  • University or College Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or Finance. CFA Designation, Masters or PhD in a STEM or STEM-related discipline would be beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with pricing optimization strategies and tools, including price elasticity modeling and third-party pricing engines
  • Strong knowledge of Machine Learning and statistical learning algorithms (e.g., SARIMA/ Decision Trees)
  • Advanced technical skills in SQL and Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and GenAI/Agentic AI (Github Copilot)
  • Excellent analytical skills. Must be able to interpret and consolidate large amounts of information in actionable recommendations. Uses sound judgment in the creation of the work plan, analysis, validation, interpretation and presentation of findings.
  • Excellent communicator with a proven ability to distill complex data into actionable insights and present to executive and cross-functional audiences
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with a deep understanding of P&L, revenue drivers, and strategic planning
