The Asset Management Branch is responsible for the cost-effective management of the City’s $20 billion public works infrastructure assets, carrying out or overseeing the provision of planning, analysis and needs evaluation specifications, and Request for Proposal (RFP) development, evaluation and selection.
You are responsible for conducting the needs analysis and the development of rehabilitation programs for infrastructure projects through the coordination of research data, gathering and analysis of existing infrastructure and prioritization of rehabilitation needs. Duties include preparing long range planning, needs and feasibility studies for the City’s infrastructure systems (such as pavements, structures, buildings, parks, watermains and sewers), providing information to address/resolve inquiries from the general public and elected officials, and assisting in the preparation of renewal programs and budgets.
This position is within the AMS Structures team responsible for managing structural assets that includes bridges, culverts and retaining walls, among others. The position is expected to perform a Subject Matter Expert (SME) role in structural engineering specifically related to structural inspection, condition assessment and rehabilitation. Related experience and knowledge in codes, standards and guidelines for structural assets will be an asset
Completion of 4 year university degree in Engineering or Applied Science from a recognized university, preferably in a civil, mechanical or electrical engineering related discipline
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible and practical experience in relevant engineering field with thorough knowledge of infrastructure system design, construction and operation
