De-escalate conflicts through strong verbal communication and situational awareness
Apply a working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and Trespass to Property Act (TPA) during incidents, investigations, and interventions
Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, common areas, and exterior spaces to uphold safety and visibility
Respond to medical emergencies as a first responder until additional help arrives
Monitor and verify alarms, security cameras, and access control systems
Prepare accurate incident reports and coordinate with law enforcement or emergency personnel when required
Provide supportive customer service and clear communication to students and staff throughout daily operations
This role requires resilience, professionalism, and the ability to stay grounded in fast-paced, sometimes unpredictable situations.
Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification

Minimum 1 year of tactical security experience, ideally involving interactions with individuals from the vulnerable sector
Completion of a Police Foundations or Law & Security program (strongly preferred)

Solid working knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and the Trespass to Property Act, including practical enforcement
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations calmly and confidently
Ability to handle sensitive, high-stress situations with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
Strong documentation and report-writing skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods during 12-hour shifts
Computer proficiency, including MS Office, Google Suite, and basic security reporting tools
Self-defence, powers of arrest, or EMR training considered a strong asset
