Our federal government client is seeking a Material Management Specialist to provide hands-on support for warehouse operations, inventory control, and materiel lifecycle activities. This role is essential to maintaining supply continuity, improving readiness, and reducing operational risk within a high-volume logistics environment.
Receive deliveries, sort packages, and complete transactions in an SAP-based ERP system
Conduct inventory updates, including serial number verification and disposal/transfer transactions
Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (with valid certification)
Support hazardous waste coordination and ensure compliance with safety procedures
Prepare items for surplus disposal, manage listings, and coordinate with external buyers
Maintain accurate records of loaned and returned equipment
Provide client service in response to supply requests, both in-person and remotely
Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
Support the warehouse team with physical organization and material flow
Participate in scheduled meetings, complete required reporting, and follow departmental protocols
Secondary school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
At least four (4) years of experience in the materiel management field
Minimum two (2) years of recent experience in warehousing within a government or large commercial organization
Minimum two (2) years of recent experience entering materiel data into an SAP-based ERP using a warehousing module
Proven ability to coordinate inventory replenishment, distribution, and disposal of complex assets
Experience preparing detailed Statements of Work and communicating across all procurement stages
Knowledge of life cycle strategies and asset disposal planning
WHMIS certification required before contract start
Secret-level security clearance and English fluency
Ability to work primarily on-site with limited telework
Familiarity with hazardous materials handling and compliance with controlled goods procedures is an asset
