The Ministry of Primary and Preventative Health Services is building a more resilient and sustainable health care system that can support Albertans getting care when and where they need it, while responding to system-wide health challenges, improving health outcomes and maintaining fiscal responsibility. The ministry supports Albertans’ health and well-being throughout their lives by protecting public health and promoting wellness; coordinating and delivering safe, person-centered, quality health services; planning capital infrastructure; supporting innovative information management and technologies; regulating health care; and funding the health system.
The Health Insurance Programs Branch administers the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) on behalf of the Government of Alberta to provide eligible Albertans with coverage for medically necessary insured physician and hospital services and some dental surgical services. This position is a subject matter expert and provides front line customer service supporting payable benefits under the AHCIP to over 12,000 practitioners, their billing clerks and Alberta registrants.
Reporting to the Team Lead of the Provider Relationship and Claims Unit, the Practitioner Services Adjudicator will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
Adjudicates medical and allied claims that are being held for manual assessment for any of the assessment rule conditions related to the service provider or stakeholder:
Registers service providers according to the licensing standards of the Primary and Preventative Health Services Ministry and their governing bodies:
Registers all Alternate Payment/Relationship Programs, the service providers and program/payment details:
Establishes facilities according to guidelines received from Ministerial orders and the CPSA:

Qualifications
High school diploma and four years of related experience.
Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
Knowledge:
