The IT System Architecture Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level IT solutions that align with organizational goals and industry best practices. This role ensures robust, scalable, and secure architectures that support business operations and digital transformation initiatives across CAE’s Defense & Security Canada Region.
·Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines.
·Design end-to-end IT solutions that integrate applications, data, and infrastructure components.
·Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Solution Delivery
·Lead technical design sessions and provide architectural guidance throughout a projects lifecycle.
·Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions.
·Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
Integration & Performance
·Define integration patterns for systems and applications across hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).
·Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
·Implement monitoring and disaster recovery strategies.
Security & Compliance
·Incorporate Government of Canada cybersecurity principles into architecture designs.
·Ensure adherence to data protection and privacy standards.
·Act as a trusted advisor to business units and IT leadership.
·Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
·Minimum 7+ years in IT architecture, solution design, or related roles.
·Proven experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).
·Hands-on expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), virtualization, and networking.
·Experience with Flight Operations and Flight Training.
·Strong knowledge of integration technologies (APIs, ESB, microservices).
·Proficiency in security architecture and compliance standards.
·Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
·Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, CISSP, ITIL
