Purpose

 

The Director, Strategic Initiatives and Marketing Planning is a key member of the Marketing team, contributing to the team’s overall success in supporting the Canadian Bank’s growth and client engagement strategy. Reporting to the VP, Marketing, Canadian Banking (CB), this role drives high-impact, cross-functional marketing initiatives that align with the Canadian Bank’s strategic priorities.

In this pivotal role, you will harness the power of data-driven insights to unlock new avenues of growth to elevate the Bank's performance through exceptional marketing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging strong data and insights, you'll identify strategic opportunities to increase revenue and reimagine how we leverage marketing to maximize acquisition and client engagement.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in: 

 

  • Partner closely with VP, Marketing, Canadian Banking to execute our short- and medium-term marketing strategy, propelling profitability, fostering lasting client relationships, and delivering extraordinary customer experiences. 
  • Spearhead the identification and development of strategic marketing initiatives, leveraging advanced data analytics and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to tackle critical business challenges head-on.
  • Develop communication materials and presentations to report and track progress of CB Marketing outcomes to executive leadership.
  • Support change management efforts related to Marketing’s strategic initiatives. Ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with the Bank’s values and priorities
  • Represent Marketing in Canadian Banking and Marketing-wide strategic planning and transformation efforts. Advocate for the function’s priorities and ensure integration intro broader organizational strategies
  • Oversee CB Marketing’s budget with an all-Bank lens, linking investment to strategic priorities and expected outcomes
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation, prioritization and operational excellence,
  • Lead the planning and execution of CB Marketing Director+ meetings and offsites, as well as team-wide meetings hosted by the VP, CB Marketing.
  • Drive engagement and connection within the Global Marketing team. Champion a strong internal culture to deepen employee relationships.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following:

 

  • 8-10 years of experience in Marketing and retail banking, with a proven track record of leading planning processes and marketing campaigns that drive measurable outcomes and support strategic priorities
  • Post-Secondary Education College or University.
  • A trailblazer in driving strategic projects, navigating complexity, and rallying diverse stakeholders toward a common vision.
  • Unwavering customer-centric mindset, with the ability to prioritize initiatives based on their potential to drive business value and create unforgettable customer experiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, empowering you to inspire and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise narratives (and visual presentations) for audiences of all levels (including executives).
  • Strong understanding of client segmentation, channel capacity, and distribution models.
  • Comfort working in an agile environment
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor degree in Data Analytics, Marketing, Engineering, Business, or a related field. An MBA or MSc is a definite advantage. 

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
