Our valued Federal Government client is currently seeking a UX/UI Consultant to support the Government of Canada’s (GC) continuous improvement of user experience design and product management for the Canada.ca website. This is a HYRBID, multi-year contract role in Ottawa.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Iteratively improving the overall Canada.ca design, including:
    • Enhancing global navigation and information architecture
    • Improving search performance and optimization
    • Product management of top level, GC-wide pages
    • Integrating new functionalities, involving generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities
  •  Providing advice and recommendations to departments and agencies on optimization and continuous improvement of products, services or web content supporting key user tasks
  • Advocating for Canada.ca user needs through identifying top tasks and reporting on task performance to key stakeholders including senior executives
  • Enabling product teams in the Canada.ca ecosystem through:
    • Product management of data-gathering and reporting tools
    • Ensuring ongoing communication and engagement with stakeholders
    • Defining Canada.ca vision, strategy and product governance
    • Issuing design, content or product guidance and documentation

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of UX/UI experience
  • 3+ projects supporting Federal Government externally facing web pages, with page counts 30,000+
