As a Team Lead within the Operations Planning Centre, you will guide a group of planners responsible for developing accurate, timely, and cost-effective daily operational plans that support stores across the country . Your leadership will help ensure the organization meets its service level, quality, and accuracy targets while navigating a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead a team that works closely with Transportation, Distribution, Production Planning, Logistics, Decision Support, and Store Operations. You will play a key role in improving planning processes, strengthening cross-functional relationships, and driving continuous advancement within a highly collaborative operations hub.

Your Responsibilities

  •       You will work in tandem with other team leads to help lead and support a team of Operations Planners to maintain daily operations (across 7 days) in the production of effective daily plans for Transportation and Distribution set within tight critical-path timelines.
  •       You will support the team by ensuring quality targets are met and continuously improved through stakeholder feedback.
  •       Lead deep analysis of current planning processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation and optimization.
  •       Translate operational performance data into actionable insights to improve accuracy, service levels, and cost effectiveness.
  •       Serve as a change agent for the Operational Planning team by driving enhancements within the new Transportation Management System (TMS).
  •       Evaluate existing workflows end‑to‑end and recommend process improvements that strengthen consistency, reduce manual touchpoints, and improve cycle time.
  •       Oversee successful adoption of new processes and tools, ensuring planners transition smoothly through system or procedural changes.
  •       Partner with stakeholders and team members to identify AI and machine‑learning opportunities that enhance forecasting, exception detection, and planning accuracy.
  •       Collaborate with Transportation, Distribution, Decision Support, Merchandising, and Store Operations to align operational plans with business needs.
  •       Partner with IT and project teams to test and validate OTM enhancements, ensuring system performance aligns with planner workflows.
  •       Champion the use of planning systems (OTM, DCCS, IMS, AOM) alongside BI tools to build a more data‑driven, automated planning environment.
  •       You will help the team manage store expectations, providing guidance and exception-based support while ensuring core planning principles remain intact.
  •       You will help design, build and present weekly and biweekly performance scorecards and updates to leadership.
  •       You will maintain strong communication routines with the team, including one-on-one and group meetings to support performance and development.

Skills and Qualifications

  •       5 to 7 years of logistics or supply chain experience, with proven leadership managing and motivating teams
  •       Experience working in fast-paced operational environments, with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
  •       Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect performance metrics to operational or financial outcomes.
  •       Strong technical aptitude with planning systems, databases, and tools, including MS Office, OTM, DCCS, IMS, AOM, or Power BI.
  •       Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple stakeholders.
  •       Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred.
  •       Flexibility to support a 7-day operational schedule (weekend support coverage will be required on a rotational basis shared with other members of the leadership team).
