Salary: From $22 to $24 per Hour
 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support our client in the public sector in a high-volume recruiting environment as the organization grows with new roles and departments. This position is responsible for full-cycle recruitment for entry- to mid-level roles, ensuring a seamless and efficient hiring process that meets the evolving needs of the organization.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for high-volume unionized roles. 
  • Prepare job postings, conduct sourcing, phone screening, schedule interviews, prepare interview packages, and participate in panel interviews.
  • Coordinate Monday one-on-one engagement meetings with hiring managers.
  • Administer testing, perform reference checks, and prepare verbal and written offers.
  • Maintain recruitment trackers, careers mailbox, and careers folder.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and stakeholders to ensure a smooth, service-focused recruitment experience.
  • Advise on recruitment steps required under the collective agreement to maintain labour relations compliance.
  • Promote equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all stages of the hiring process.
  • Apply HR legislation and internal policies to ensure compliance in recruitment activities.


Qualifications and Skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in high-volume recruitment is an asset; ADP experience preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, recruitment best practices, and related legislation (Human Rights Code, ESA, OHSA, AODA, Labour Relations Act).
  • Ability to interpret collective agreements and employment policies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
