Join a dynamic transportation team within a leading Canadian retail organization that is transforming the way goods move across the country. You will support a nationwide distribution network that keeps products flowing efficiently from vendors to distribution centres to stores, helping deliver a seamless experience for customers.
As a key partner on the Domestic Transportation team, you will collaborate closely with drivers, third-party carriers, dispatch colleagues, and internal stakeholders. Your work will directly contribute to the success of a large, fast-paced logistics operation, ensuring shipments are executed safely, cost-effectively, and on time. • You will dispatch daily pickup and delivery assignments to both internal fleet drivers and third-party carriers.
• You will monitor driver productivity and ensure compliance with transportation legislation.
• You will assign tractors and equipment to maximize utilization across the fleet.
• You will work with transportation software to manage and track work assignments.
• You will oversee outbound store deliveries and vendor pickups to ensure service targets are met.
• You will coordinate drayage moves and equipment repositioning to support distribution centre operations.
• You will provide timely operational updates and help identify opportunities for improvement.
• You will support 24/7 dispatch operations through rotating shifts.
• 3+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, or logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and Canadian geography.
• Familiarity with Hours of Service, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, or the Highway Traffic Act is an asset.
• Experience with JDA Transport or Oracle Transportation systems is an asset.
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to balance cost and service.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Post-secondary education, C.I.T.T. designation, or equivalent industry training.
