Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with an organization within the education sector to support the recruitment of a Manager of Extracurricular Programs for a full-time permanent position. This new leadership position has been developed to support the rapid growth of their team's academies and enrichment program. These programs, ranging from high-performance Snowsports, Hockey, Soccer, and Motorsports to arts, outdoor education, technology, and entrepreneurship, are an integral part of the student experience and a fast-growing area of the school.
The Manager, Extracurricular Programs ensures the smooth, safe, and coordinated operation of all extracurricular offerings. This role requires strong administrative capability, deep comfort managing logistics, and the ability to build trusted relationships with coaches, community partners, and families.
The position is on-site in Summerland, BC, with hours from 9:00 am–5:00 pm and occasional evenings/weekends (time-in-lieu provided). The position holds four weeks of paid vacation plus winter break school closure days, and support for professional development including coaching certifications and Class 4 licensing.
Coordinate daily schedules, transportation, communications, and logistics for all academy programs (Snowsports, Hockey, Soccer, Motorsports).
Liaise with external coaches, technical directors, and contracted providers
Oversee student transitions between academic classes and afternoon training, including attendance, safety monitoring, and family communication.
Support off-season programming and dryland training across all academies.
Strengthen relationships with local high-performance sport organizations and help develop pathways into leagues and competitions as enrollment grows.
Plan, schedule, and manage enrichment/after-school programming across arts, music, drama, outdoor education, athletics, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Work collaboratively with teachers, residence staff, and external instructors to ensure high-quality programming.
Manage course sign-ups, schedules, parent communication, and operational needs.
Manage complex, multi-layered scheduling across programs, facilities, transportation, and staffing.
Track participation data, budgets, attendance, and program performance.
Contribute to risk management planning for sport, outdoor, and experiential learning activities.
Support year-round programming, including summer camps and off-season activities that utilize school facilities.
Serve as the school’s lead relationship-builder with local sport organizations and community partners.
Maintain visibility and approachability with students and provide a positive, student-centered presence.
Communicate proactively with families regarding schedules, expectations, safety, and program logistics.
Assist with occasional weekend or evening programs, with flexible time-in-lieu.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
Understanding of Sport Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model.
Experience working with K–12 students, or in a school, camp, or sports academy setting.
Class 4 driver’s license or willingness to obtain.
Coaching certifications (or willingness to complete upgrades).
Ability to balance both operational detail and community relationship-building.
Flexible, student-centered, and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
