Position Overview

The Senior Solutions Architect – Data & AI is a key technical leader within Calian’s Data & AI practice, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and guiding the design of scalable, secure data and AI solutions built on Microsoft’s cloud ecosystem. This role operates at the intersection of strategy and delivery—defining solution vision, driving modernization initiatives, and enabling digital transformation across multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities

Lead solution architecture for data and AI initiatives, shaping vision, strategy, and target-state architecture.
Partner with Account Executives to develop solution approaches and support pre-sales activities.
Conduct assessments to evaluate client environments and identify modernization opportunities.
Design and govern enterprise data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and integration layers.
Establish data governance standards, reusable frameworks, and reference architectures.
Architect MLOps pipelines, ensure responsible AI practices, and support AI/ML deployment and optimization.
Align solutions with Microsoft’s Data & AI ecosystem (Azure Synapse, Fabric, Purview, OpenAI, Copilot).
Mentor delivery teams, contribute to best practices, and support practice development.
Represent Calian in the Microsoft partner community through thought leadership and innovation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
10+ years in data architecture, analytics, or AI solution delivery.
Strong experience as a customer-facing technical lead for enterprise data/AI initiatives.
Deep expertise with Azure Data & AI technologies (Synapse, Fabric, Data Lake, Databricks, Power BI, ML, Azure OpenAI).
Strong knowledge of data modeling, governance, integration patterns, and security frameworks.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage executive stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and translate complex technical concepts into business value.

Additional Requirements

Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent Data & AI certifications preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Copilot configuration and Purview governance tools.
Familiarity with DevOps/MLOps practices, CI/CD automation, and AI lifecycle management.
Experience in pre-sales solutioning and proposal development.
Understanding of compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 2701, GDPR, and CCPA.
