Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to create an inventory of candidates for current and future vacancies with various tenures, linguistic profiles, and security requirements at the Department of National Defence. There is an immediate need to fill one (1), English essential GL INM 11 position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Possession of a valid Red Seal inter-provincial journeyperson's certification as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician.
Experience
EX1. Experience in the installation, operation, calibration and maintenance of a variety of Building automation control systems.
EX2. Experience troubleshooting and analyzing problems with digital, electronic and pneumatic controls and systems.
EX3. Experience working in a multi-trade team environment.
EX4. Experience using standard computer applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to support administrative and operational tasks.

ASSET EDUCATION
Successful completion of a post-secondary program from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position being staffed.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
EX1. Experience working in an institutional environment.
EX2. Experience in HVAC and refrigeration trades.
EX3. Experience working with military infrastructure.
EX4. Experience interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, plans, and blueprints.
EX5. Experience working with EMCS (Energy Management Control Systems) automation and programming.
EX6. Experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
EX7.Experience with air quality and halocarbon management compliance standards.
EX8.Possession of a valid confined space certification.
EX9.Possession of a valid aerial platform certification.
EX10.Possession of a valid fall arrest certification.
EX11.Completion of lockout/tagout training.
