Our leading satelite client is looking for a C++ Embedded Developer to join their team. This is a 6 month contract with transition to permanent after 6 months.

In this role, you’ll design, develop, integrate, and test software across a variety of advanced space robotics systems—from embedded robotics-control systems for the ISS, to rover navigation technologies, to next-generation 3D LiDAR sensors.

Role Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to complex product and tool designs
• Work independently on diverse, technically challenging problems
• Perform requirements analysis and develop software specifications
• Create and maintain software architecture designs
• Design, code, and test high-quality software
• Lead project teams on larger initiatives
• Participate in software and systems integration testing
• Collaborate directly with customers during requirements and design reviews
• Attend and contribute to technical meetings with clients
• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams

Experience & Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Physics
• 8+ years of relevant software development experience
• 5+ years of hands-on C++ development
• Experience developing under both Linux and Windows environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Qt, Python, MATLAB, or Java
• Familiarity with third-party libraries (e.g., OpenCV, OpenGL, Embree)
• Full software development lifecycle / new product development experience
• Low-level software or FPGA interface development
• Knowledge of military or commercial software development standards
