Our client in the Non-Profit space is seeking a skilled Content Designer/Content Developer to support the revision of instructor-level training programs. This role will focus on developing high-quality English content, creating templates and product files, and ensuring cohesive tone, style, and terminology across all deliverables.
Working closely with internal subject-matter experts (SMEs), this consultant will translate learning and course requirements into clear, accessible print and digital materials. The role emphasizes strong content design, consistency, UX awareness, and adherence to accessibility guidelines.
Support content planning, research, and development for all deliverables.
Design, develop, and edit content including copy decks, storyboards, manuscripts, and templates.
Conduct substantive, stylistic, copyediting, and proofreading reviews to ensure clarity and consistency.
Ensure tone, style, and terminology are applied cohesively across all program components and related projects.
Review production design drafts for alignment with approved content files.
Apply accessibility and inclusive design standards (AODA, WCAG).
Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to align content with learning objectives, UX principles, and program goals.
Support the creation of both English and French components (no translation required—focus is on structure, consistency, and readiness for production).
3–5 years of experience in content design, content development, instructional content, or related fields.
Post-secondary education in communications, instructional design, publishing, digital media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of content development for both print and digital products.
Knowledge of UX principles, accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG), and inclusive content practices.
Experience editing for tone, style, and cohesion across large projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such as Articulate Rise and D2L/Brightspace is an asset.
Knowledge of the Canadian Press Style Guide and ability to adapt style rules to meet project and brand needs.
Understanding of systems thinking and/or atomic design principles is an asset.
No unusual physical demands.
Requires strong focus, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must be adaptable to shifting project needs and responsive to time-sensitive requests.
