Communications and Public Engagement (CPE) is the Government of Alberta’s full-service communications, public relations and marketing agency.
CPE provides planning, execution and measurement of all communications efforts. Its expert staff provide specialized services across the spectrum of communications and marketing from research, design, writing and social media, to event coordination, issues management, digital communications, advertising and public engagement.
The agency staffs the internal and external communications functions in all departments of government, with a mandate of building public trust and connecting with Albertans in meaningful ways.

CPE is seeking dynamic Communications Advisors (PS4) for various ministries within the Government of Alberta who have a range of public relations skills and strong strategic and critical thinking abilities. This role provides communications services and support to clients and collaborates closely with other communications colleagues.
In addition to roles in various ministries, candidates may also be considered for a Communications Advisor role in CPE’s central branch supporting communications project management and the consistent, co-ordinated delivery of central communications services.
Your responsibilities will include:
As a Communications Advisor, you’ll need to understand the goals and priorities of the Government of Alberta and how they align with ministry deliverables and stakeholder needs. Proven relationship-building skills are essential for developing networks and becoming a trusted advisor in areas such as issues management, communications planning, and media event planning.
A strong drive for results will empower you to deliver high-quality, strategic plans and products that engage target audiences.
