Our client, a real estate investment and development organization, is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of properties. In this position, you will play a key role in driving portfolio performance, identifying value-add opportunities, and ensuring assets meet both financial and operational objectives.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Ottawa.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the performance of real estate assets within the assigned portfolio
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for each asset, including leasing, capital improvements, and life-cycle maintenance
  • Conduct regular financial analysis, underwriting, and valuations to guide investment decisions
  • Oversee annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with property management and leasing teams
  • Monitor financial performance, assess variances, and make recommendations to enhance value and mitigate risk
  • Conduct market research and analyze trends impacting asset and portfolio performance
  • Support development and implementation of ESG initiatives and other strategic projects
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external consultants, and property managers

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate asset management, investment analysis, or portfolio management
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Direct experience with residential or mixed-use properties is an asset
  • Exposure to Yardi or similar systems preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Professional designations such as CA, MBA, or AACI are considered assets
