At the Department of Finance and Treasury Board we strive to provide financial leadership, analysis and policies that strengthen Nova Scotia. As stewards of the province’s financial affairs, we deliver a wide range of corporate fiscal and management services – including the preparation of the provincial budget – as well as ensure government plans are coordinated and fiscally responsible.
We are constantly looking for new and better ways to plan, manage, budget and invest.
As the Finance Co-Op Student, you will administer and perform the day-to-day operations of Financial Advisory Services by ensuring proper documentation, verification, authorization, job costing and account coding. The Finance student maintains the general ledger by reviewing, reconciling, and analyzing on a daily and monthly basis for accounting and data errors or inconsistencies.

Your client centric approach allows you to foster positive relationships, you are a team player with a desire to consistently create a positive work environment.
You also can work independently with little supervision and in team environments. You possess strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and displays initiative and resourcefulness with a strong attention to detail.
We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

This is a student co-op opportunity with a start date of January 5, 2026 and an end date of April 30, 2026.
Pay Grade: HOURLY
Salary Range: $16.52 - $29.69 Hourly
