The Team

The Technology Team at Scotiabank has accountability to oversee and deliver Technology Change to support and improve Scotiabank in Europe and globally.  This role drives that delivery and contributes to the management of internal platforms and key technology vendor relationships supporting Global Wholesale Operations (GWO).

The Role

The Senior Manager, Settement Gloss, provides functional and business analysis expertise to the GWO organisation as part of the GCM Engineering team in Toronto. The incumbent will act in a senior role as part of a team of application support and business analysts to help deliver multiple global projects and system upgrades, facilitating change and process improvement on platforms used by GWO teams.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Functional application support for all regions where GWO/Finance/Middle Office require assistance.
  • Out of cycle urgent hotfix testing and deployment
  • Daylight Saving and Quarter/Year End Change co-ordination.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity testing including participation in service provider’s BDR/BCP testing.
  • Data Archiving to ensure efficient operation of the platform.
  • Liaise with internal infrastructure teams to ensure stability of MQ/Hardware dependencies.
  • Ensure production issue intake is via Service now for 1st/2nd line incidents, reviewing and closing tickets in a timely fashion. 
  • Escalate issues where appropriate to service providers and manage outages or degradation of service via GSOC. Incident management platform.
  • Application Functional Support across global user community.
  • Liaison with Access Management to ensure robust segregation of duty controls are in place with well-defined user/role templates that can be requested and revoked via LAM.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

 

  • 5 – 10 years technical work experience
  • 5 – 7 years in a senior operations technology business analysis role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Good understanding of financial markets and products, in particular Fixed Income Cash, Repo and Derivatives as well as Prime Brokerage.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with good technical understanding to effectively liaise with business users and members of technical teams with minimal assistance.
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Highly proactive, self-motivated and self-sufficient with the ability to learn new skills quickly.
