Director, Client Value Proposition, Insurance (241588) 

Leads and oversees creditor insurance product development, management, and customer value proposition design for Insurance Canada by developing and managing product offerings that meet customer needs. Responsible for establishing relevant and meaningful offerings and collaborating on optimized customer journeys while ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Also responsible for supporting the English Caribbean Region with product strategy, development and the oversight of learning and education, while ensuring these are aligned with our regional strategy. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will: 

•    Lead the design and development of new product offerings and continuous improvement to existing products. This includes all business line partner integration efforts across the bank, digital and with our strategic insurance company partners. 

•    Collaborate on the design of optimized customer journeys across the entire insurance value chain to drive improved value for our customers and overall retention, growth and profitability  

•    Perform customer segmentation analysis (with Business Analytics) for optimized revenue and customer lifetime value analysis to drive the right solutions for each segment. 

•    Product Bundling & Pricing: Craft product bundles/discounts to increase customer retention and offer a competitive product. Understand product profitability drivers and contribution to NIAT. 

•    Leverage market research and develop competitive analyses in collaboration with the Sales Optimization & Growth team to inform business decisions. 

•    Product Expertise: Internalization of product expertise/knowledge across insurance products and carriers 

•    Advise and work with our partners to define and evolve business needs and requirements for the Creditor platform evolution. 

•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 

•    Support the English Caribbean Market with product expertise for strategy and development, and lead the development of a learning/education strategy for the region. 

•    Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.  

•    Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team. 

•    Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. 

 
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have: 

•    Highly knowledgeable in Creditor or other individual insurance products. 
•    7+ years’ experience in developing insurance product strategy. 
•    Experienced in delivering transformational projects in a large company. 
•    Excellent persuasion and negotiating skills, to build constructive, supported solutions often in the absence of direct decision authority 
•    Thorough understanding of insurance and financial planning concepts  
•    Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, with limited support. 
•    Excellent planning and strategic thinking skills, with solid understanding of P/L levers and competitive landscape 
•    Highly proficient power point skills with the ability to build long term strategies and execute on the plans 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or MBA or advanced degree preferred
