Purpose of Job:
The primary purpose of the Total Wealth Planning Associate is to provide financial planning support to the Senior Total Wealth Planners in market.
Major Accountabilities:
1. Prepare financial plans for Senior Total Wealth Planners (STWP) in local market for HNW clients with $2+ million in investable assets
Input client data gathered by the STWP during the discovery meeting, ensure the plan is completed 5 days before a client meeting for all stakeholders to review;
Work collaboratively with the STWP to create a preliminary financial plan that addresses the clients immediate and future goals and objectives that will be shared with the Team of Specialists (ToS) for their review and input;
Finalize the plan for the STWP in preparation for client presentation;
Provide appropriate documentation – Action Plan which outlines recommendations and Next Steps to the Team Manager;
Attend weekly meetings with ToSs and advisors to review client files members ;
Assist the Team Wealth Manager with referral implementation; as required;
Update plans after client meetings as required.
Work with Associates and Assistants from other business lines in order to get information about clients required for planning purposes
Ensure that all financial plans assigned are accurate, and completed in a timely manner pursuant to a Service Level Agreement.
Work with the Central Planning Group in Toronto when at capacity and require help in completing plans to ensure timely delivery.
2. Responsible for the administrative component of the financial planning process, in addition to inputting plans:
Save all client files in a back-up network drive for security and audit purposes.
File all documentation used to complete a plan appropriately and retain for 7 years.
Order stationary as required for planning – plan covers, binders through head office etc.
Where necessary work with the Team Wealth Manager to arrange meetings or provide updates on the HNW offering platform
3. Support the compliance / Quality Control mandate in your local area – review plans completed by advisors when requested by the Central Planning Group
Check accuracy, completeness, and reasonability of assumptions in Financial Plans created by advisors and other members of the Financial Planning group to mitigate risk to the organization and improve the quality of the financial planning product. (Reviews will be completed in accordance with pre-set criteria and process standards).
