Our client in the non-profit sector is seeking a collaborative and experienced Senior Stakeholder Relations Advisor to join their team for a 1 year contract. This role includes 3 weeks of vacation and a benefits package. The hybrid model requires being in the office 1-2 times per month.

In this role you will  lead stakeholder engagement strategies that support environmental sustainability. This role focuses on strengthening relationships, supporting program goals, and ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged, and aligned with regulatory objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and campaigns.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including industry associations, producers, municipalities, and service providers.

  • Lead stakeholder working groups, advisory councils, consultations, and engagement initiatives.

  • Track, analyze, and report on stakeholder feedback and industry trends to inform strategy.

  • Manage engagement projects, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Identify opportunities for executive participation in stakeholder events, conferences, webinars, and consultations.

  • Conduct policy and market research, jurisdictional scans, interviews, and information-gathering activities.

  • Prepare briefing notes about policy, reports, presentations, and communication materials for leadership and stakeholders.

  • Develop internal processes, policies, and systems that support effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Support strategic planning and act as a senior advisor to leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary degree in public policy, communications, environmental studies, political science, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in stakeholder relations, government relations, public policy, or communications.

  • Strong background in relationship-building and stakeholder management.

  • Experience working within a regulatory or public sector environment.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage sensitive information and navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.

  • High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and customer-service orientation.

  • Strong document and file management capabilities.
