Location: Toronto ON, Windsor ON, or Montreal QC, Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site

Language: Strong written and spoken English is required. French proficiency is an asset.

Duration: 6-month contract

About the Opportunity

Our non-profit and financial services client is seeking an Instructional Designer to support the rollout of a new enterprise system. In this role, you will shape the design of an organization-wide training program that helps employees build confidence, capability, and readiness for a major transformation. You will work closely with cross-functional partners who are passionate about creating a smooth experience for learners and the teams who support them.

This is a collaborative opportunity where your ability to map curriculum, design multi-modal learning experiences, and translate complex business and system requirements into meaningful training will truly make an impact. You will contribute to a highly visible project that strengthens the organization’s ability to adapt, innovate, and grow.

Your Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will design the overall structure and flow of the training curriculum, including modules, learning pathways, and content sequencing.
  • You will lead curriculum mapping and ensure alignment with business processes and system rollout requirements.
  • You will collaborate with Trainers, Learning Experience Designers, and SMEs to translate program-level objectives into course-level designs.
  • You will identify content needs, skill gaps, and role-specific learning requirements.
  • You will develop high-level instructional strategies for eLearning, instructor-led training, job aids, and performance support materials.
  • You will ensure consistency, accessibility, and instructional integrity across all program components.
  • You will establish evaluation plans to measure effectiveness at both module and program levels.
  • You will manage timelines, documentation, and collaboration workflows in a dynamic project environment.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or program-level learning design in a corporate or complex environment.
  • Post-secondary education in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience designing multi-modal learning programs including eLearning, instructor-led, and blended formats.
  • Strong knowledge of Backwards design and scaffolding design.

  • Strong knowledge of curriculum mapping, needs analysis, and alignment of content to learning outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of learning theories, instructional models, and adult learning principles.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to work in fast-paced environments.
