Our client, a leading Canadian institutional investment organization, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Procurement for a 6-month contract engagement (with the possibility of a 6-month extension). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting sourcing and contract management activities across a diverse range of categories, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with enterprise procurement objectives.

The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement professional with strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of contract lifecycle management, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex vendor relationships and technology-related agreements.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Support sourcing initiatives and end-to-end procurement activities across multiple categories, with a focus on technology and professional services.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals, drive value, and ensure compliance with policies and best practices.

  • Conduct supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract renewals, ensuring optimal terms and risk mitigation.

Contract Management

  • Manage complex contract lifecycles, including drafting, reviewing, and overseeing agreements for software subscriptions, professional services, and technology solutions.

  • Collaborate with internal legal, finance, and business stakeholders to ensure contractual accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records through contract management systems and procurement platforms.

Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted partner to internal clients, providing guidance and support throughout the procurement process.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and cross-functional teams to foster collaboration and operational excellence.

  • Support ongoing vendor performance reviews and address escalations as needed.

Process Optimization & Reporting

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools to enhance efficiency and transparency.

  • Prepare and present analytical reports, sourcing summaries, and contract insights to leadership.

  • Leverage technology and data to support decision-making and identify opportunities for savings and process improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in contract lifecycle management, strategic sourcing, and category management, including at least 3 years managing technology-related agreements.

  • Strong understanding of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) process and various sourcing strategies.

  • Proven experience managing complex contracts for software subscriptions and professional services.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a client-first mindset.

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience using Workday Strategic Sourcing or comparable procurement software.

  • Public and private sector procurement experience.

  • Professional certification such as Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) is an asset.

  • Ability to work on-site in Victoria, BC (hybrid or remote flexibility available).
