Agilus is recruiting for an Audit Manager in the public accounting sector in a hybrid work environment in Edmonton, Alberta. This hybrid role can be based out of any of our client’s offices in Cold Lake, Bonnyville, or Edmonton, AB. A day in the life: Lead and oversee audit, review, and compilation engagements, ensuring timely completion of financial statements and tax filings. Prepare personal and corporate income tax returns (T1, T3, T4, T5, GST, and other compliance filings). Provide clients with advisory insights to support financial planning and informed decision-making. Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally. Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives. Manage project timelines, budgets, billing, and work-in-progress effectively. Collaborate with team members to enhance internal processes and overall service delivery. Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering professional growth and learning. You bring: Solid understanding of ASPE, ASNPO, and Canadian tax compliance (T1, T2, GST, T4, T5). Proficiency with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero. Prior leadership and staff management experience or training is highly required Growth-minded professional with a passion for developing the audit practice — identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and driving process improvements. Must have CPA designation (or near completion) 3+ years of public practice experience, with a strong background in audit and assurance engagements. Proven ability to manage audit engagements and coordinate multiple projects effectively. Experience working in a mid-size public accounting firm with a focus on audit engagements. Experience working with non-profit organizations and private enterprises.
