We are seeking a Bilingual Research Consultant (English/French) to support the development of a comprehensive, bilingual inventory of gender-based violence (GBV) learning resources. The consultant will catalogue and summarize training materials, webinars, podcasts, and other learning products.
This project will enable the organization to better understand existing GBV learning resources, avoid duplication, and inform future webinar and resource planning for the Community of Practice.
Review two existing reports to identify referenced organizations, government departments, and resource providers related to GBV and family violence.
Catalogue available learning products (trainings, webinars, podcasts, etc.) into a searchable, sortable bilingual database (Excel or similar format).
Develop concise annotated summaries (in English and French) for each resource, outlining key themes, target audiences, and relevance.
Produce a one-page bilingual summary highlighting key providers, learning topics, and trends.
Ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of both language versions.
Liaise with the Manager of Policy & Research to review progress, validate findings, and refine deliverables.
Education:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in sociology, gender studies, women’s studies, family studies, or a related social science field.
Experience:
Demonstrated background or knowledge in gender-based violence (GBV) and family violence research or programming.
Experience conducting environmental scans, literature reviews, or knowledge management projects in social services, public health, or policy settings.
Experience with the military community or military culture is an asset but not required.
Proven ability to synthesize and summarize information clearly and concisely in both official languages.
Language Requirements:
Bilingual (English and French, advanced) – ability to read, analyze, and write fluently in both languages.
Technical Skills:
Strong command of MS Excel or other data management tools.
Excellent written communication and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and deliver quality work under tight timelines.
