Job Title: Technical Support Specialist
Location: On-site, 5 days/week – Toronto/Mississauga, Malton area (Toronto Pearson Airport area)
Duration: 3 weeks contract
Pay rate: $25- 30/HR

About the Role:
Our education sector client is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide hands-on support for computer technologies, including desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices. The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with installations and deployments, supporting end-user training, and maintaining accurate inventory. This is an on-site position requiring a reliable vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for staff and students, including troubleshooting and resolving issues with hardware and software.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer equipment and software.
  • Assist with large-scale technology deployments and refreshes at school and office sites.
  • Conduct basic training for staff on the use of computer technologies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and manage IT assets.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year of relevant technical experience, preferably in a Help Desk or Service Desk environment.
  • Proficiency in computer hardware and software, including troubleshooting and configuration.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • IT certifications (e.g., MTA, MCTS, MCITP, ACSP, ACTC) are considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Involves lifting and moving moderately heavy equipment (desktops, laptops, monitors, peripherals).
