We are looking for an experienced IBM MQ Administrator with deep expertise in IBM MQ 9.x and Replicated Data Queue Manager (RDQM) to support and enhance our enterprise messaging infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of messaging systems that underpin core banking applications.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ 9.x across distributed environments (Linux/Unix).
  • Manage queue managers, queues, topics, channels, and MQ object security.
  • Monitor and tune MQ performance, availability, and throughput.
  • Implement and maintain MQ clustering and multi-instance queue managers.
  • Maintain RDQM clusters, quorum devices, and replication health.
  • Conduct failover testing and DR drills to validate RDQM resilience.
  • Troubleshoot RDQM-related issues and coordinate with IBM support when needed.
  • Analyze and resolve complex MQ issues across production and non-production environments.
  • Implement TLS encryption, SSL certificates, and secure authentication mechanisms.
  • Ensure MQ configurations comply with internal security policies and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal and external audits with detailed documentation and evidence.
  • Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) for MQ operations and monitoring.
  • Automate MQ provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible.
  • Work closely with application teams to support messaging requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior MQ administrators and middleware engineers.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IBM MQ administration.
  • Proven expertise in IBM MQ 9.x and RDQM in high-availability environments.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting.
  • Nice to have experience managing Ansible Automation Platform
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • IBM Certified Administrator is preferred
