As a Scotia Wealth Insurance Services Inc., (SWIS) AMS & Reporting Associate, you will play a key role in assisting complex reports, projects and assisting data-driven decision making. You will support analytics initiatives, provide actionable insights, and partner with internal stakeholders to strengthen reporting capabilities across the SWIS business. Your expertise in data visualization, analytics, and proficiency with BI tool (Power BI, Tableau) will enable you to elevate the quality of business intelligence and support strategic priorities. You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Insurance AMS & Reporting, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

What will you do?

Support SWIS direct reports, business, and finance partners on monthly, quarterly, or annual basis and support regulatory reporting.

  • Support SWIS with month-end reporting and other key finance deliverables.
  • Partner with stakeholders, including regulators and auditors, to implement changes or enhancements to reporting processes and deliverables.
  • Design, build and implement visually appealing and intuitive dashboards including a high level of complexity that serve as both self-serve sources of information and supports the analytical insights required to drive data-driven business decision.
  • Analyze data to uncover trends, patterns and insights using a variety of analytical methods and translate them into prescriptive output.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and analytics.
  • Automate manual reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Develop and document reporting standards, definitions, and data governance practices
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on data visualization and analytics. Recommend analytics solutions while driving a positive internal client experience.
  • Investigate and resolve data & dashboard issues and solution ad-hoc requests.
  • Build your knowledge on-the-job in the areas of insurance products, distribution channels and various datasets.
  • Support ad-hoc analysis and deliver insights to leadership teams.
  • Keep up with advancements in analytical techniques and methodologies to strengthen analytical efforts across the organization.

  • Post secondary Accounting or Finance education and completion of a recognized professional designation (CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Tableau Desktop, Power-BI and MS Excel, and dashboard building methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical methods (e.g., exploratory, descriptive, predictive)
  • Proficient in using and manipulating large datasets.
  • Ability to proactively solve & manage data and dashboard problems.
  • Positive attitude, team player, effective communications, and collaboration skills + a strong internal client satisfaction outlook.
  • Post-secondary education in business, data analytics or equivalent experience.

    Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with operations, sales, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to align on enablement strategies and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the both the operation and sales teams to ensure they understand the enablement programs and how to use them.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

A minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations, systems, or reporting as well as:

  • A University degree, or college diploma in a related field.
  • Experience in a dynamic and fast paced, entrepreneurial environment requiring superior prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Excel.
  • Advanced MS Word, Excel Outlook, and CRM skills. Experience with other productivity, reporting resource management tools is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement.
